Introducing Offline Storage — Record Without Your Phone
What is Offline Storage?
Offline Storage lets your Fieldy device keep recording even when it’s not connected to your phone, and then sync & transcribe automatically once you reconnect.
Why should I use it?
- Reliable audio capture — conversations are retrieved even when Bluetooth connection drops
- Phone-free freedom — leave your phone in your pocket, bag, or even back in the office
- Stay in the moment — be yourself in the conversation, reflect & share afterwards using the Fieldy app
How to get it?
Make sure your device is running firmware version 2.2.2B or higher
- Check for the latest update by connecting to the device and going to the device screen.
- When you successfully update to this new firmware you will be asked to pair the device.
Press Pair: - Restart the app.
⚠️ Devices on 1.0.8B or below cannot install 2.x.x firmware due to older hardware.
How to use it?
No settings to turn on — it just works once you update.
-
Record as usual — even if your phone disconnects
⚠️ Firmware 2.2.2B stores up to 3 hours of recordings offline. Once full, it keeps recording by overwriting the oldest audio automatically. -
Open the Fieldy app to sync recordings
Fieldy detects offline recordings and starts syncing immediately. You can leave the app open or let it work in the background.
How long does sync take?
Rule of thumb: 1 hour of audio ≈ 5 minutes to sync.
Sync speed depends on your phone model.
Progress is always shown in the top right corner:
Estimated Time to Sync is shown in the device screen:
If you wish to clear recordings stored on the device, press Erase offline storage:
Once the audio finishes syncing, Fieldy will take up to 5 more minutes to transcribe and summarise in the background.
You will receive a notification once your conversations are processed (if notifications are enabled in the Fieldy app).
